Moth balls are laced with phenol which is a deadly poison.I find moth balls repel squirrels when laced with sunflower seed in the bird feeder.Is it toxic to birds?
Birds are not nessairly susistable to poisons the same as mamals with a stomach rather than a craw

You can achieve the same effect with pepper but without harming the birds. You can even buy bird food with pepper already added. The squirrels don't like the smell but, as birds have a poor sense of smell, they don't mind at all.

Yes, mothballs are toxic to birds and many other animals including humans.





they are a benzene family crystal which is a known cancer causing chemical. Please do not use them in a closed atrea or near animals.
well ive heard of putting them in chicken coops to keep snakes away and youd thing the chickens would peck them and they are obviously okay..but i really dont know...all species are differant.
