I wonder if you could make a revolving bird feeder. One that doesn't toss the seed all over would be good.

That's really a great idea. I don't think I've seen or heard of anything like that. You should draw up one and seek a patent on it. You might have just solved the squirrel in the bird feeder problem.

Hang a wide feeder with a thin wire from the top.
The squirrels cannot climb down the wire.
If they do, it becomes unbalanced and they fall off!

Sorry haven't found the revolving bird feeder but I did find a powder in walmart that is for bird feeders that you put in the seed. Doesn't bother the birds but is an extreme eye irritant to the squirrels. Might try that in the mean time. I too have huge problems with the ground squirrels.
